Vibratory Plate Compactors
A plate compactor is available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and accessories, but the main features remain the same. They can be either electric or gasoline-powered. A gasoline or diesel engine drives or vibrates the plate. Plate compactors work with a heavy M.S. plate on the bottom of the machine, which vibrates rapidly up and down. In combination with high impacts, weight of the plates, and impact of forces given, the soil is effectively compacted or packed. Plate compactors work best on granular soils, such as those that contain more sand or gravel to compact asphalt and sub-base on driveways and parking lots, as well as to repair them. They are useful in tight field areas where larger rollers might not be able to reach. A plate compactor is the most commonly used or rented equipment for small compaction jobs. .An electric model performs faster compared to a gasoline-powered one. There are categorized into types based on their motion and power. Depending upon work size, a contractor must decide which of these to use.
